Sheila Beatty is January’s Featured Artist. As the month comes to a close please check out her beautiful cloisonné enamel jewelry one more time. Sheila uses various enameling techniques to add visual interest to her pieces. For example, basse taille imparts texture to the silver base which shows through the transparent and translucent enamels applied over it; and Guilloche engraves intricate patterns in the fine silver with a rose engine machine which provides a beautiful base for enameling. Sheila’s small-scale jewelry pieces are like miniature paintings, inspired by nature and fluid and organic in design – truly wearable art!
