Our new featured jewelry artist is Cheryl Eve Acosta. We carry her wonderful “Presence” collection which was inspired by fossilized biological structures she discovered in the New Mexico desert. Drawing with square silver wire, linear forms emerged reminiscent of exoskeleton remains created by the process of evolution. The exploration of empty space allows her to play with scale while still making light, wearable works of art.
Cheryl’s contemporary jewelry has appeared in numerous publications and been shown nationally and internationally. She is known for making bold and distinctive pieces of body adornment that merge both fashion and art. The delicateness of her designs highlights the impermanence and fragility of natural forms.
Cheryl was born in Puerto Rico and learned her craft at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her Silver Double Pointer Pendant below is a perfect example of her work.
