David LaPlantz calls his brooches “cartoonos roundos” because they tell a story similar to a cartoon panel in a newspaper. Punched from industrially painted aluminum sheets into 2” diameter circles, each piece is hydraulically formed, pierced, engraved and cold connected. His Grid White Brooch expresses David’s idea that “the odd one out is often seen as a threat [but] may in fact hold the keys to improvements and other manners of creative thinking.” Eminently collectible, these unique brooches are great for men as well as women.
