Aneta Zae Biography

Aneta Zae was born in the Czech Republic and studied psychology and philosophy at Charles University in Prague before traveling the world and learning English. After living in Australia for 7 years, she moved to New York City to study design. In 2015, she felt an incredible urge to create something tangible with her hands, and with the encouragement of a good friend she took a course in jewelry making. At Jewelry Arts, Inc. she was offered an apprenticeship and learned metal smithing, but she eventually found another studio where she fell in love working with wax and sculpting. In 2018, she launched Aneta Zae Jewelry.
Aneta designs sculptural and wearable art jewelry. Certified as an Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP®) with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA®), her unique contemporary jewelry is timeless, bold, playful, and other worldly. Her limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces, which are handmade in her New York studio from ethically sourced gemstones and fine metals, are created from the heart and evoke a sense of magic. In 2021, Aneta’s Ocean Crown Ring was a finalist in the NYCxDESIGN Awards.
